Eugène lepoittevin, le coup de l'étrier (a kick in the stirrup, i. E. , one for the road), oil on canvas, 38 x 46. 5 cm; the banner reads "cabaret du camp. Le poittivin loge à pied à cheval. " when exhibited at the paris salon of 1845, the painting was such a success that the artist made more than one variant, as well as a lithograph version; this may or may not be the original painting shown at the salon.
