Thou shalt set apart unto the lord all that openeth, and every firstling that cometh that cometh of a beast which thou hast; the males shall be the lord’s. ” this vignette shows a slaughtered lamb and dove (both ritually clean animals) lying at right before rough-hewn stone altar with fire burning, an axe, platter, ewer and ash basin – the accoutrements of sacrifice.
