The profession of Saint Clare of Assisi, Juan Ruiz Soriano, 1734

The work represents saint clare of assisi professing her vows in the presence of saint francis of assisi, which took place in the chapel of the porziuncola of assisi on the festival of palm sunday in 1212. And it should be noted that this work was part of a set of canvases that juan ruiz soriano executed for the missing convent of san francisco in seville, which was demolished in 1841.
