Petersburg ж-4182 the portrait is part of a series of paintings created by vereshchagin during his travels around russia in 1887–1888. The artist visited yaroslavl, rostov, and kostroma. In his book illustrated autobiographies of several unremarkable russian people (1895), vereshchagin also included a portrait of an old woman he met during his travels. Object Type: painting.
