Portrait of madame augustin varcollier, née atala stamaty, 1855, by ingres atala varcollier was the daughter of constantin stamaty, and appears as a young girl in ingres' 1818 portrait of her family. Born in rome in 1803, she was a favourite pupil of ingres, and executed a number of copies of his drawings and paintings.
