Le brocanteur (the antique dealer), lithograph by wattier after the painting le brocanteur de tableaux by hortense haudebourt-lescot exhibited in paris at the salon of 1824 (#869). The lithograph, published by godefroy engelmann, was also exhibited at the same salon (# 2122) interior of a shop, with antique dealer seated on chair, holding spectacles, and addressing a young woman standing at right with her hand resting on a painting which presumably she has come to sell; beyond, at left, statuettes and stuffed birds on a table; some paintings hung to the wall, and a birdcage hanging from the ceiling.
