Photo of the stage of the imperial mariinsky theatre dressed in designer adolf kvapp's décor for act i/scene 1 of the choreographer marius petipa (1818-1910) & the composer ludwig minkus's (1828-1917) ballet "la bayadère". In the center can be seen the mathilde kschessinskaya (1871-1970) in the principal role of nikiya. Date: 1901 (ballet premiered in 1900).
