Farewell comedy (nagori kyogen), depicting nakamura utaemon iv (shikan) (a poem above his head) in an ornate and multi-coloured robe and a high and pointed hat performing the sambaso, a comic dance, in the play 'matakuru haru suzuna no tanemaki' (再春菘種蒔) performed at the nakamura theatre, edo from the 9th month of 1833 (tempo 4).
