handwritten inscription - the old man has left the clouds and the mountain, mangfu endures the torments of the relentless illness. Stifling boredom, with a burst of courage, the ground powder is barely crushed, it is covered with a shower of flowers, within the painting, where could i settle down? i will join the green pines that [i have] chosen. Next to my pillow an insanta [blowing] a light wind, a link where i can take refuge far from the world. On the second day after the winter solstice of the year bingyin [1926], suddenly overcome with worry, i painted this in order to entertain myself, and i inscribed this [poem] to the tune of heiqinu by feng haisu [feng zizhen].
