Field post letters from hans koch, vienna, world war ii, eastern front, 1922-1945 previous letter (1943-01-11) letter no. 123 (1943-01-13) next letter (1943-01-20) east, 13. 1. 43. My dear mum! first of all, my warmest greetings and many thanks for the three packages! the cigarettes and biscuits are wonderful, but i was especially pleased with the pocket knife! so it worked without a z stamp after all. The first packages were probably too heavy? i can certainly understand your annoyance at the post office when you had to go home again. I often think about how you are and what you are doing right now. I am doing very well here. We have now moved and have a nice bunker again with [8 men. ]. Date: 13 January 1943.
