The dispute over the immaculate conception of pordenone is a painting (oil on panel, 298 x 198 cm) preserved in naples in the national museum of capodimonte (inv. Q 86), part of the farnese collection. The large panel comes from the pallavicino chapel in the church of santa maria annunciata in cortemaggiore, whose decoration pordenone was responsible for between 1529 and 1530, and where it was replaced by a copy of the time. The iconographic interpretation of the panel is controversial: for some it depicts the mystery of christ's conception, for others that of mary by saint anne. Even the identification of the saints is not completely certain due to the absence of common attributes. Object Type: painting.
