The christine was built by burmeister & wain in copenhagen for det danske petroleums-aktieselskab in copenhagen. She was launched in september 1890 (yard no. 162) and delivered the following month. She was an early example of a tanker. In 1901 she was sold to anglo-american oil co. Ltd. , london and became the tioga. In 1910 she was sold to soc. Ballenera christensen y cia. , corral, chile and became a floating whale factory. Wrecked and lost in february 1913 at coronation island in the south orkney islands near the antarctic.
