262. Braubachstrasse (Braubach Street) Breakthrough to the West (Layed down 1905)., English: around 1906

After the western part of the old town was demolished and the layout of the direct connecting road from the main station through kronprinzenstrasse and the old town to the ostbahnhof was drawn up, the houses on borngasse, kruggasse, neugasse and mörsergasse were demolished in rapid succession to make way for the construction of braubachstrasse. The camera was able to capture the image of the demolished houses, courtyards and alleys as a permanent memory and here we have a snapshot of the remains of the buildings to the west from borngasse as well as the still standing houses on mörsergasse and the interesting rebstock building. In the further background you can see the spires of the magnificent building and the tower of the new town hall and to the right the paulsturm and the church. Date: around 1906. Dimensions: reproduction: height: 15.3 cm (6 in); width: 22.1 cm (8.7 in), original: unknown. Medium: collotype print. Collection: Private collection Mylius.
