this board represents grandville drawing writers locked in cages. The engraving parodies the french painted by themselves, published in 1840. The zoo was a place of study very frequented by artists in the first half of the 19th century. In the image, the panels reproduce the warnings given to visitors to the acclimatization gardens: "don't throw anything into the cages"; "no smoking"; "given by prince joinville"
