The way in which borrassà created the composition, with the golden idol located in the center and elevated on a complex structure, allowed him to distribute the two groups that appear in the scene on both sides, thus avoiding the feeling of spatial suffocation. On the left he arranged the proconsul agen on a high throne and two other male figures represented at his feet, while on the right he placed saint andrew the apostle and the group of soldiers and executioners who are taking him prisoner before the proconsul. This work, being made entirely by luis borrassà, shows some of the most characteristic features of the artist: the human types translated with their lively gestures and attitudes, the architectures and pavements that are repeated in other works by his hand, and the rich color present in his compositions, all of which show that this work corresponds to the first years of the 15th century, a time in which borrassà showed a mastery of the language of international gothic that made him stand out from other painters.
