Historical commentary: the copy of tafereelen van de staatsomwenteling in frankribution by p. G. Beijk (1794-1807) from the bnf is published in amsterdam, j. Allart, 1795-1801, 2 vols. In-8º, in the 25 deliveries there are 25 frontispieces by vinkeles and vrydag, 77 figures by bulthuis, vinkeles and vrydag and 79 portraits by claessens and portman. After the storming of the bastille, the freed prisoners were carried in triumph to the hôtel de ville. There were seven of them (claude auguste tavernier, count jacques-françois-xavier whyte de malleville, count de solages as well as four forgers: jean la corrège, jean bechade, jean-antoine pujarol, bernard laroche). Contemporary engravings also speak of a certain count of lorges represented with a beard like the old man in our engraving.
