iconographic description:
in a park, the character of mayeux, created by traviès, with a newspaper on his knees, seated on a chair under a tree to the right of the composition, makes fun of the excessively large legs of a man walking in the park, accompanied by a woman wearing a pink dress. With a gesture of her left hand held back, she holds her dress up so that it does not drag on the ground. This detail further accentuates the disproportionate size of the man’s legs. Mayeux placed his hat and gloves on a chair behind him. Person / character depicted:
mayeux (literary character)
