The second woman watches a waiter from the wine merchant pass, holding two books and carrying a jug on his head. Several baskets containing oysters are placed on the table and on the ground. A plate of oysters is also placed on the table. Men taste oysters while another collects shells from the ground in front of the restaurant "au rocher de cancal" indicated by a large sign and on the facade. A cart, loaded with oysters, travels further down the street. A woman, carrying a basket and a belly basket loaded with poultry, seems to call out to passers-by.
