genre scene. Outdoor scene: paris, street, architecture, bare trees, winter. Characters: a fashion saleswoman, carrying a pair of scissors on her belt and a bulky package attached to her arm, places a coin in the hat of a young savoyard while crossing the street. This one is equipped with knee pads and holds a broom. A man, his hands in a muff, crosses the street in the other direction. Car number “1078. ” walks away. Five young boys, including three chimney sweeps, are playing on the side of the road. A couple sells puppies placed in two cages, observed by a soldier. Two dogs, adult poodles are tied to their side. Two young boys and a man watch smoke rise from a fire stoked by a kneeling man. A man carries a heavy load on his head. Several posters are attached to a grid including “to rent / an / aparte- / ment”, “to rent / rooms / of / garcon”. A woman walks towards the music store on the corner of the street: "a la lyre d'apolon / music store / de p [. . . ] / et / so[. . . ] / ins[truments] / mus[ique]".
