Viii. 38. Dear parents, first of all, warmest greetings and kisses from me. Please forgive me for only writing today, but the harvest. I couldn't write last sunday because i had to work. Thank god the harvest will soon be finished, only a few more days. It's not been raining much, with 33° in the shade. Now it's cooled down a bit and it's raining. My shoes are now useful, and i thank you very much for them. I should be writing so much, but i don't feel like it. Did nitsche get my card? i'm not writing back either. Date: 21 August 1938.
