historical commentary:
the oldest (private) market in paris, created in 1615, the marché des enfants-rouges, took the name of the hospital located at 90 rue des archives, following its closure in 1772. Sold to the city of paris in 1912, it is still in operation today. Ruelle des oiseaux connects the market to rue de beauce.
