description:
ewer with a pyriform body extended by a cylindrical neck; it is equipped with a curved s-shaped spout and a fixed vertical ear-shaped handle; it is accompanied by a domed lid fitted with a circular grip button; it rests on a circular foot; flat base; it is covered with a colorless coating: the exterior wall of the cover stem is devoid of coating; the rim and the inside of the lip are devoid of cover; the lower edge of the foot is devoid of cover; the cover is marked with numerous pinheads and the bursting of a large bubble on the inside of the handle; the shard is white; the decoration is painted in “famille rose” enamels: on each side of the body, inside a quatrefoil cartouche, decorated with characters. On one side: scholar accompanied by a servant holding a fan to which a child presents a game. On the other, a lady accompanied by a crane to whom a servant presents a game. On the rest of the wood are floral sprigs, branches laden with fruit and butterflies. The lip is highlighted with a frieze of stylized flowers
