Field post letters from hans koch, vienna, world war ii, eastern front, 1922-1945 previous letter (1942-07-26) letter no. 88 (1942-08-03) next letter (1942-08-09) envelope: front back text yes, if the war were already over that would be nice. Whether it will last another winter is unknown. We want to hope for the best! was there another air raid warning in vienna? there have only been two alarms here but there were no planes! you know, everything is the same here as before, a bit of work and going out. The weather has now improved too, i went swimming again. You don't need to worry about the smoking, i don't smoke too much! otherwise i have nothing new to report. Please give my regards to all your friends. Thank you again for everything. Warmest regards and kisses to you, dear mother, from your hansl. Date: 3 August 1942.
