4. Courtyard hinter dem Lämmchen (behind the Lambkin) No. 6., circa 1896
Views of the courtyard reveal quaint galleries at the facades of both the rear and the left adjacent building. Such galleries were quite common in the old frankfurt and partly are upon today. The appreciation for a domestic life amongst our ancestors made them take care of such passages which also allowed a pleasant stay outdoors in the warmer days; those galleries usually provided space to set up and grow flowers as well as they did establish a playground for the children easy to oversee. Date: circa 1896. Dimensions: reproduction: height: 20.6 cm (8.1 in); width: 15.4 cm (6 in), original: unknown. Medium: collotype print. Collection: Private collection Mylius.
