Field post letters from hans koch, vienna, world war ii, eastern front, 1922-1945 previous letter (1944-10-08) letter no. Blank (1944-04-15) next letter (1944-10-18) envelope: front back card text bad gandersheim 10/15/1944 my beloved mum! the sirens have just gone off again for the fifth time today. There's a buzzing in the air again, they're probably flying to braunschweig, hanover or berlin again. Luckily nothing is thrown here, they're always flying over us. I also heard that our vienna was attacked again. If only you, my mum, had stayed healthy! it was probably really bad again? what did they hit? did it hit our district too? it's a real misery with these planes, if only something could be done about it. You don't need to worry about it as far as i'm concerned, nothing will happen here! Date: 15 October 1944.
