Father grundel, who was previously mayor of stockholm, is seen standing in a beautiful interior with his arms raised in a powerful gesture. Oil on canvas, 70 x 62 cm. Painting by pehr hilleström. The opera about helmfelt written by king gustav iii has its origin in the life and life of field marshal helmfelt. Helmfelt fled his home in his youth and was rediscovered after 17 years by his family when he reached the higher ranks in the military. The drama was originally performed in 1783 by the court at ulriksdal and was later performed at bollhuset in stockholm in 1788. Date: 1 January 1790.
