This wood engraving is based on a painting by mårten eskil winge. It shows the norse mythological figures loki and sigyn. Loki is bound and sigyn holds a cup above his head to protect him from the venom dripping from the snake above. In the lower right corner there is the signature of gunnar forssell (1859-1903), the xylographer. The image list on page 468 in the book describes this image as loke och sigyn.
