"whiteway, seat of the yardes", watercolour by reverend john swete (died 1821) dated 10 july 1795 of whiteway in the parish of kingsteignton, devon. Devon record office: dro 564m/f8/119. Swete's mother was a member of the yarde family of whiteway. A domesday book manor, today a farmhouse known as whiteway barton. Not to be confused with whiteway house in the parish of chudleigh, 4 3/4 miles to the north, a former seat of the parker family of saltram. Date: 10 July 1795.
