Illustration by poul steffensen from the danish novel gjøngehøvdingen by carit etlar which takes place during and after the dano-swedish war in 1657-1658. Three swedish soldiers, a corporal and ib abelsøn who pretends to be a guide has taking shelter in a hut. Here the corporal and ib abelsøn talks about the wanted svend poulsen, gøngehøvdingen. But when the corporal says that he would like to meet svend poulsen he suddenly comes out and together with ib abelsøn he then captures the four swedes. Svend poulsen (app. 1610 - app. 1679) was a real person but the story is fiction. The look of svend poulsen is also fantasy as there is no known portraits of him. Date: Original illustration from the 1890s, here reprint from 1909..
