Friedrich bury (1783-1823), wax painting by johann heinrich lips. The young painter and housemate became close to goethe, who liked him as a "second fritz" (the same as: von stein). In 1790 he met him in northern italy, in 1800 bury was his housemate in weimar; in 1808 they met in carlsbad. Both times bury drew the poet. Date: late 18th century. Medium: wax paint painting.
