Wilhelm marstrand made this painting in 1845 as a wedding-gift for his brother otto marstrand, who was living in the danish west-indies. It portrays the rest of the family: wilhelm marstrand to the left, oswald marstrand in naval uniform and the brothers' mother, petra marstrand. Standing is theodor marstrand and to the right troels marstrand. Otto marstrand himself is actually in the picture, as the portrait of him, made by christen købke in 1841, is hanging on the wall to the right of petra marstrand. Object Type: painting. Date: 1845.
