Signs in the shop read "a large assortment of most ilicant blunderbuss's, the trade supplied" and "pretty little pistols for pretty little children" according to williams (2003): 175, "the antiquated firearms and primitive agricultural weapons suggest the inadequacy of nationalist military resources and the foolishness of the idea that ireland could overthrow england by arms.
