iconographic description:
from the point du jour viaduct to the grenelle bridge, bateaux mouches construction site, may 1885. Bateaux mouches construction site on the bank of the seine in issy. A dock with three anglers, a man and a child, a construction site worker. Boats on the seine, on the other bank, restaurants and taverns, a concert hall "concert du cadran", residential buildings, steamboats, garigliano bridge, former palais du trocadéro. Historical commentary:
this drawing should be compared for style and composition with card02402 (copy of a drawing by swebach-desfontaines first attributed to gautherot) and card05472 (copy of a drawing by duplessi-bertaux). Do the similarities between the three drawings come from the fact that they were made by the same copyist? wouldn't these drawings be student developments based on drawings by their masters, to prepare for the engraver's work?
