Satire on the french, evidently inspired by bm satires 4668: a grinning man with a long queue smoking a pipe stands wearing wooden shoes holding out a pair of shears; under his left arm is a struggling dog and two more dogs are tied to a post on which is a sign reading, "qua[i] ch[. . ]" beside a stool; a view, presumably intended for paris, behind. 29 march 1772 etching.
