Painting depicting albert mérat, writer and librarian of the french academy. Framed in a hexagonal black painted wooden frame with gold edging. On the back dated 1902. Several notices, including h(?)abelsten saltsjö-dufnäs. Another later portrait of mérat is included in the collection that came in after bernhard österman's death (slm7029). According to bernhard, these portraits are the only ones he himself requested to paint after completing his studies. The reason for this was a meeting with the poet merat in a cafe in paris.
