description:
this circular box with a slightly rounded lid rests on a concave base with a bare rim. The sherd took on a buff-orange color when fired, while where the body is not covered with slip but only with glaze (for example on the underside of the piece) it appears a fairly dark gray. The underside of the lid is decorated with a large peony flower painted with red and green enamels. The side of the lid, like that of the lower part, is painted with red enamel with a greek decoration. Themes / subjects / places represented:
