Field post letters from hans koch, vienna, world war ii, eastern front, 1922-1945 previous letter (1942-08-13) letter no. 90 (1942-08-14) next letter (1942-08-26) b. [braunschweig], august 14, 1942. My dear mum! i received your lovely letters today. The rec. [pek. ???] was sent to me by the general company. Thank you very much for both of them, but what have you done again? all that money and the stamps again! i use the money for taking photographs. It's just very difficult here. Almost all the photography studios are closed; for the others it takes 6-8 weeks. I get myself approved and give them my home address; they should then send the photos home. - so you were in the prater, you're right. I would have liked to have seen you on the himalayan railway. I got the nice prater card. Siegi was with you with dieter, well they always come for a "side trip". Fritzl was back home, well it won't be quite that bad, he's too pessimistic. Be glad you don't have a flight alarm. When i go on holiday they can come by me, but only like they did back then! well now you're not even safe in the prater anymore. Date: 14 August 1942.
