Statue of aphrodite in parian marble. Praxiteles' work served as inspiration for numerous copies and variants. In this reduced-size version, the arms were restored by the english sculptor joseph nollekens at the end of the 18th century. A slight highlight on the chin suggests that, in the original, the goddess raised her hand, touching her face with her fingers. Roman period, version of a greek original from the 4th century bc.
