The End of a Hero and a Tank at Courcelette Art.IWMART2389, William Orpen

The end of a hero and a tank at courcelette image: the remains of a destroyed british male tank stand over the edge of a dugout on the right. One gun on the tank points down towards the inside of the trench and the entrance to the dugout, and there are helmets and equipment lying on the ground at the top. A single british grave is marked with a steel helmet placed on a wooden cross in the ground. Date: 1917 (First World War).
