Vii. 38. Dear parents! received your card today. You have no idea how happy people are here when they don't see or hear anything from writing. No time all week and on sundays one is always happy when one has a bit of peace and quiet. This is how we do it now: i write every sunday and you always reply. I will now describe a sunday like that to you. Up for 35 minutes. To the farmer to feed until 7:30. Then polish shoes, get clothes ready until 9:30. Then it's breakfast, which is to say, a full breakfast for you. Now i usually lie down until 11:30, then feed again. Now it's lunchtime. Eat, then change and go to camp. There i clean up. After cleaning up, i went swimming with a comrade from kauergasse [named after ferdinand kauer]. I went to [elementary school] with him and karl. Date: 31 July 1938.
