Drawing, Mosaic Design with Chained Dog, 1868–1915, Frederick Krieg, 1868–1915
An abstracted dog whose body is made up of concetric lines and tiny cubes, turns to the right, as if pulling away from the chains shackling him to a partial wall. The notations around the drawing and the depiction of the dog's body suggest that this was a design for a mosaic. Date: 1868–1915. Medium: pencil on paper. Collection: Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. Drawing, Mosaic Design with Chained Dog, 1868–1915 (CH 18692155)
