Veduta veneziana, Giacomo Guardi

Veduta veneziana, Giacomo Guardi

Work with an intense guardo flavour, whose pictorial model can be recognized in the master's canvas preserved at the academy of fine arts in venice (oil on canvas, 69x94 cm) and dated to the early years of the eighth decade, but the comparison with the painting is equally precise kept in the estense gallery in modena, whose authorship is however questioned by critics, but that of clark is also cited art institute and the glasgow art gallery. However, the style and drafting refer to the figure of giacomo guardi (venice, 1764-1835), and the "view of the island of san michele" preserved in the rijksmuseum in amsterdam (oil on canvas, 14x21. 5 cm) comes to mind. Although much of his activity took place in the first decades of the 19th century, the youngest of the guardi is considered one of the most representative interpreters of the venetian landscape tradition. Date: 17th century.
