saint-lazare prison, 107 rue du faubourg saint-denis, 10th arrondissement. The dormitories. Alignment of beds on either side of a canal alley. At the foot of some beds there is a pitcher and a chamber pot. Historical commentary:
in 1898 the destruction of many prisons was decided. Saint-lazare escaped this first wave, but the question of its destruction was raised again in 1912. The municipal commission of old commissioned photographs of these buildings before their disappearance. The judicial part of saint-lazare was finally destroyed between 1935 and 1940.
