The photograph presents a frame of a pencil sketch depicting a group of four figures captured in a bust. In the center, a bishop is shown looking straight at the viewer, wearing a miter with strands of hair sticking out from under it. He rests his right hand at waist level on a robe finished with a decorative collar. On the left side, the head of a boy with a serious expression is visible en face, holding a large cardinal's hat. On the right, a second boy is fragmentarily shown, dressed in a white surplice, with his head bowed, and behind him - a barely visible older man. In the background there are delicately outlined gothic architectural details with trefoil motifs and a fragment of the coat of arms. The photograph of the drawing by jan matejko shows neither the author's signature nor its dating.
