Here, grant is aged 19, shortly after being selected for the royal company of archers, and is wearing their uniform tunic and trews (the tartan of which is uncertain; it differs between different portraits of company members). He is holding an unstrung bow. He seems to be wearing a blue bonnet with elaborate cockade. Date: 1715.
