Portrait painting of the actor andrew cherry (1762–1812), bust-length, as lazarillo in robert jephson's farce "two strings to your bow", published in 1791. Cherry appeared as lazarillo in jephson's play at drury lane theatre, where he performed from 1802 to 1807. An engraving of 1804 by ridley, based on this portrait and inscribed 'saxon pinx', describes the sitter as 'mr cherry in lazarillo'. Object Type: painting. Date: before 1804.
