this board represents grandville drawing the authors locked in cages. The engraving parodies the french painted by themselves, published in 1840. The zoo was a place of study very frequented by artists in the first half of the 19th century. In the image there are signs reproducing the warnings given to visitors to the acclimatization gardens: "don't throw anything into the cages"; "no smoking"; "given by prince joinville"
