Field post letters from hans koch, vienna, world war ii, eastern front, 1922-1945 previous letter (1944-07-03) letter no. 263 (1944-07-04) next letter (1944-07-08) envelope: front back text quedlingurg 4. July [1944] my beloved mum! i am giving this letter to comrades who are being transferred to a home hospital and are coming to vienna; it will go quicker that way. I would really like to come myself, but unfortunately that isn’t possible. I have been up since sunday and everything is going perfectly. I spend a lot of time lying in the garden in the sun and reading. This week another hospital train with wounded is coming. The doctor was with us today and said that we will be released from the hospital on friday, july 7. He has recommended leave, but it is questionable whether we will be given any. Well, let's hope for the best! Date: 4 July 1944.
