Tschiersky, friedrich julius von, draughtsman and etcher, was born in 1777 in peilau in silesia, where his father was a landowner. He studied law in erlangen, then became a trainee lawyer at the chamber in posen, and later an imperial saxon war councillor, as which he stayed in dresden. Here he practiced landscape painting under klengel, and produced drawings in particular in the style of this master, which are handled ingeniously. Klengel counted him among his best pupils. He is the baron von thirsky, whom brulliot mentions in the dict. Des monog. Ii. 2691. We owe this skilled amateur several etched sheets after klengel, jg wagner and his own drawings.
