144 Femme passant sous le tombeau de saint Yves, Charles Géniaux, 1890

Women passing under the tomb of saint yves (photograph by charles géniaux, 1890). At the minihy-tréguier cemetery, the custom was to pass under the "tomb" [probably the altar of the old chapel] in order to ask him for mercy or to thank him for the fulfillment of a wish. We also collected small white stones in the cemetery to protect our crops. Date: 1890.
